Riley is in a wonderful pre-k program this year. She has been going for over a month now and absolutely loves it. Whenever I tell her it's a school day she bounces out of bed and tells me how excited she is.
Riley comes home from school brimming with random bits and pieces of her day. Sometimes we'll accidentally hit on something that she happened to learn or we'll piece it together and ask her the right questions and get more information than usual. Two weeks ago I taught my daycare kids a turkey song at circle time and all of a sudden Riley started doing hand movements with it.
Turns out they were learning the song with gestures to show us at her school's Thanksgiving Feast.
Hello, adorableness.
She snuck a wave at the camera into the choreography on the second go round.
Riley wore the turkey shirt I made for her last year just for the occasion. She was so excited when we got there. We found her drinking red kool-aid and working on her thanksgiving feather with her high schooler.
After the song and a Thanksgiving read aloud it was time to get down to feasting! The high school students outdid themselves for it was indeed a feast of turkey, fruits, veggies, macaroni, mashed potatoes, cornbread and many delicious desserts.
I can't believe next year she'll be in kindergarten and we will be going to an American Education Week activity!
