I'm a P.O.S.

Em In Pursuit

I stumbled upon this tonight and I immediately took the challenge of becoming a P.O.S. blogger otherwise known as a Prisoner of Summer. The challenge rules are simple:

Don't feel guilty about not blogging obsessively and just enjoy the summer of 2009.

The winds of change are howling here for our little family and I'm not at the point where I feel comfortable sharing all that entails just yet. Suffice to say that I won't be able to blog as much as I have before and I'm okay with that. I just have to ask you my few readers to be okay with that too.

Wishing you a very happy and fun filled summer of 2009!

I'm an "Aunt" again

Well sort of. :) My dear friend Linds had her second adorable son early this morning and I couldn't be happier for her and her family. No pictures yet, but Bug is every bit as cute as his big brother Boosta! I didn't want to stop snuggling, cuddling and loving on that sweet baby. Thank goodness for hospital security or I would have snuck him home in my purse!

Congratulations! We love you guys!

Swimmy Swimming

We love the pool and at least 2 times a week RB and I go together for some sun (with sunscreen of course) and swimming. It's usually about 30 minutes of fun before she lets me know she's done by crawling into my arms and snuggling. This weekend though she did not want to leave and the three of us spent a solid hour and 1/2 pool side. Here's some pics of the little Miss in her swimsuit hanging by the pool.

Wondering what's up with the angry faces in these photos? Trust me she LOVES swimming. She's just upset because it was break time and she WASN'T allowed in the pool for 15 minutes.

Hi Gigi

Today Riley and I were playing in the kitchen and she was emptying the lazy susan cupboard. She's into hats lately and she decided that she and I should wear the strainers. I couldn't help but video her in the hat and as soon as I turned that camera on her she turned on the charm. This video is something I will treasure for the rest of my life and is the result of a strainer, a camera and an absolutely adorable 16 month old.

Booster Baby

Adios high chair, hello booster seat! Lately when we go out we've been letting RB sit in a big girl booster seat. She's certainly tall enough and usually well behaved enough to do so. Here's a pic of her the first time we tried the booster at Clyde's a few weeks ago. Can't you tell she's thrilled to be sitting like a big girl next to her beloved Daddy?

And just because I can't get enough of the two of them.

I'm Back

I know I've been away for a while, but what can I say? The last month of school is always busy and as if I didn't have enough to do with that I am also juggling that with an impending move, summer league swim coaching and chasing after our ever growing 16 month old. More on the first two things later, but for now on to the best and sweetest part. Riley Boo of course!

Although most of the time it seems like the days are dragging by our baby is an ever present reminder that it it doing exactly the opposite. She is more independent, more verbal and more and more adorable everyday. She has been keeping us on our toes and we have been busy lately taking day trips and having lots of new experiences.

Three weeks ago we visited an area park that I discovered online. Although it was a bit of a drive we decided to make the trip because it had picnic grounds, 4 playgrounds, a carousel, ice cream stand and a working train among many other things. We had the best time together and Riley was so thrilled with the train. She's even started saying choo choo whenever she sees one.

Getting our picnic on! I packed mac, sandwiches, fried rice and string cheese.

Loving the very budget friendly carousel ride. It only cost .50 cents and it was quite long as far as carousel rides go.

And the best part of all...the train!
