Their mother is one of my sister's very best friends. She knows our family well and has even been on a family vacation trip to Hawaii. We don't allow just anyone to go on those trips so that should tell you how close to us she is.
This spring she was blessed with a pregnancy of twins! She has been very excited about their impending birth and becoming a new Mommy.
She had a healthy pregnancy, but at 32 weeks she started having contractions that resulted in the eventual emergency c-section to deliver her sweet baby boy and girl.
Hattie and Drake are both in the NICU at her local hospital and are fighting each day to grow stronger and get healthy enough to go home. She has been updating daily on their progress and specific issues they are working to resolve on her blog 2 dogs, 2 kids and Us.
I know that the road ahead will be bumpy for your dear friends. Little NICU babies seems to always move two or three steps forward and one step back, but these sweet babies have a loving home to come home to. Our prayers are with Hattie and Drake (and with mommy and daddy too) that they may grow strong over this period of time and grow to know how treasured they really are!
